Wilcox knowing exactly how to get the best out of him, and his left foot, commented: "I am delighted to get Lewis signed for next season. I know all about him, I’ve had him before at both Scunthorpe United and Farsley Celtic. He brings great energy, a great left foot, and great set piece delivery. He is another versatile player, who trains well, with an excellent attitude. He is a valuable member of the team, with lots of experience at League 2 with Scunthorpe, and in the league above for Farsley. He’s another great addition to the squad."

Trinity supporters will be pleased to know that Lewis is really looking forward to what he feels is an exciting season ahead, "I’ve not been this excited for an upcoming season in a long time. I am really enjoying my time at the club this time round and I’m happy to continue it all for another year."

So, did the player who has played in several positions for the club, including in goal, need much convincing? "It was a really easy decision, I had a two minute conversation with Russ and that was it, I was as good as signed on again! I didn’t need much persuading, I really enjoy working with Russ!"

The two are certainly familiar with one another, as Butroid explains, "I think next season will be the 5th season in a row I’ve worked with him and it’s really important for me to be playing under someone who gets the best out of me as I’ve found it hard in the past, under other managers."

Coupled with the under contract Dayle Southwell, retained Declan Howe, Bailey Conway and Ashley Jackson, it’s clear to see what the ambitions are for next season, something Lewis intimates, "I think the goal for next season is an obvious one, when you look at the amount of lads staying on for another year. That wouldn’t be happening if there wasn’t a genuine ambition or chance we can get promoted, so I feel like that’s the aim. I think the consistency of the squad is so important at this level, it took us half a season to figure out a squad and ultimately that’s what’s cost us this year. With everything already seemingly worked out before this season has ended, it stands us in very good stead to pick up where we have left off this season, which is play-off form, so I am really excited!"

And with that self-belief harnessed within the camp… things are certainly looking up for the Holy Blues. It’s great to have you along with us for the ride! One Town. One Team. One Trinity.
