Boston come to Gainsborough as their eighth game of their warm up campaign, a schedule that has seen them win four and lose three of their games played to date. Most recently, the Pilgrims have picked up back to back victories against Peterborough Sports & Notts County. There have also been a couple of high scoring games in their pre-season, a 4-2 win over Kettering Town, but also a quite remarkable 6-4 loss at home to Peterborough United!

This one certainly looks to be an exciting encounter, and one that is set to have something of a competitive edge to proceedings. And Trinity will be hopeful that the likes of Bailey Conway, Bobby Johnson & Dayle Southwell all continue to get minutes in the bank ahead of the season curtain raiser in just over seven days time.

Performances have been good from the Holy Blues against strong opposition and tough tests, "There were lots of positives, I was really pleased. Sheffield United are a good outfit, they're full time professionals. And they made us work really hard. We can be better in both boxes, but apart from the goal, our two 'keepers haven't had many real saves to make. At the other end, we perhaps needed to be a touch more clinical, but hopefully that will come - second half Tuesday - we scored three against Barnsley.” Explained the boss, Russ Wilcox following his sides’ narrow defeat to a young side of Sheffield United professionals last weekend,

“We’re not far away now, so we need to tidy up a few things - Do some work on set plays.. for and against. And make sure the organisation is a bit better and the delivery is better. It's the finer details now, but we’ve had a free week this week, before the Boston game, and we have another next week to really work on these finer details. I am happy with the shape we are in – and the attitude and application of the players.“

A reminder that 2024/25 Gainsborough Trinity Season Ticket Holders can take advantage of 50% off the price of friendly match day admission prices. Just remember to log in to your accounts that you purchased your Season Ticket with and the reduction will automatically be deducted.

The gates are open from 1:30pm. Street parking around the ground is available, but we ask our visitors to be mindful of local residents and private residential areas.
