Gainsborough boss, Russ Wilcox will be hoping for the returns of Bailey Conway and Bobby Johnson, to strengthen his options in the middle of the park, the latter not having featured so far this campaign. Everyone in the squad is likely to be called upon during this busy period, as Wilcox explains: "The squad will be pushed to its maximum, with three games in the next six days. Our first match on Tuesday night, sees us make the long trip north to Hebburn Town, and on Saturday 24th we are away again and travel west to Leek Town. These two fixtures will see return journeys totalling around 9 hours and over 440 miles! "
"On August Bank Holiday Monday we are at home and welcome our local rivals Worksop Town which should be a great fixture. We have quality in the squad and everyone will be needed through this particularly testing week, as well as throughout the rest of the season." He went on to thank the Trinity faithful, who have backed the side in growing numbers, so far this campaign, "Thank you as ever to everyone for their support, we will be doing our utmost to get as many points as possible. Up the Holy Blues!"
Impressively, the Black and Yellows, since gaining promotion, have won three out of three, without conceding a goal. Two 1-0 wins, against Warrington Rylands (home) and Blyth Spartans (away), followed by a 2-0 win over
Mickleover at the Don Amott Stadium, mean they join Stockton and Macclesfield on nine points.
There are a couple of recognisable personnel likely to feature for the Bees, from our battles with Morpeth Town over the years, are goalscoring centre back Michael Turner and creative midfielder Liam Noble. Noble having joined Hebburn towards the back of last season, initially on loan - whereas Turner joined in the Summer, after seven years at the Highwaymen.
The Holy Blues will be looking to build on the start to the season that has resulted in four points from the opening three games, one of five sides that have taken one win, one draw and one defeat from the opening throes of the campaign. Can Trinity take the first points off Hebburn and return back to Lincolnshire with the points in the bag?
Commentary
It's my intention, for those members of the Trinity family unable to make the monster Tuesday night journey to Hebburn, to provide full match commentary of the Blues versus the Bees. Commentary will be due to start around five minutes before kick off to bring you the team news and hopefully, the first goals conceded by our hosts this season!
