Game 30 Preview: Warrington Rylands (A)

Sitting eight points off the final play-off place, Rylands have picked up four points from nine, since losing to the Holy Blues on 11th February. Defeat to runaway leader's Macclesfield and a 1-1 draw away at Basford sandwiched a 2-0 home win over Leek. Trinity are seven points further back, but boast four games in hand on both 7th placed Warrington and 5th placed Stockton. There's little room for Trinity to slip up in the quest for an unlikely play-off spot, but one thing for sure, is Russ Wilcox's side will go into the game prepared and ready for the battle ahead!

Details

This will be the sixth meeting between the sides. Trinity currently lead the way with four wins and a draw, since the first meeting back in August 2022 when Jack Dyche opened the scoring inside eleven seconds. The only draw in the five games so far, came last October at the Northolme, Clive Smoth netting a ninety-sixth minute equaliser, to cancel out Dec Howe's ninth minute opener.

Trinity leading marksman and talisman, Howe has four goals to his name in the three games he has played against Rylands and will be hoping to add to that tally at the weekend. New signing, Jordan Hallam, who arrived on loan until the end of the season from league rivals Basford United will be hoping to make his debut on Saturday against Rylands, the 26 year old leaving the Ambers as the Nottingham side's top scorer this campaign.

Elsewhere

Trinity just need to concentrate on picking up their own results, but some of the games involved have bearings both above and below, which means that anything can still happen in the table. It's more the upcoming Tuesday night's when only Russ Wilcox's men are facing off against another in the 'games in hand' matches that things will really begin to take shape.
