Prize money of £5,625, plus a share of the gate receipts is up for grabs for the winner of the tie, with the loser pocketing £1,875. Trinity, like most sides in the competition at this stage will be hopeful of earning the bigger chunk, with the opportunity of sharing a proportion of the £12,500 Fourth Qualifying Round pot (Winner £9,375/ Loser £3,125) as the Blue Army harbour hopes of reaching the 'Proper Rounds' of the competition in back to back seasons.

This season's journey so far, has already produced late drama for the Holy Blues with Jonny Margetts twice popping up in added time to secure Trinity's passage. A close range header converting Sisa Tuntulwana's pinpoint cross, away at Corby, before a nerveless penalty dispatched at home to Rushall, set up the tie with Dunston of the NPL Division 1 East.

Dunston are sat 11th in the table, with ten points from six games. Three wins and a draw, are coupled with two defeats. In the league UTS have scored seven and conceded seven times. In the cup, Dunston have been leaving it late too! Liam Thear's 93 minute winner saw them past Thornaby in the Preliminary Round. Phil Turnbull scored the only goal of the game against Kendall, two minutes before half time, to see UTS through their First Qualifying Round game. A match in which JJ O'Donnell was sent off.

Will Shaw was the hero as they knocked Stocksbridge Park Steels out. Scoring in the 6th minute of added time, in the last round, to set up this tie. It's fair to say, this should be an entertaining clash, as Trinity travel up to Dunston for the first time in six years. When the draw was made, we mentioned a player in the current squad that was with us the last time we played there - if you hadn't been able to guess - it was a baby-faced David Robson. Trinity's number one played, saved a penalty and kept a clean sheet in our 4-0 win. A rearranged Tuesday night game! Gavin Allot scored a hat-trick with Ross Hannah grabbing the other.

Going into the game, Russ Wilcox said, "We are all looking forward to the game against Dunston. Every game in the North East is tough. We will approach it like every game, do our homework on them, respect them but believe in ourselves to get a positive result that will hopefully take us one step closer to the first round. We hope to have some players back in contention, if not we will put our trust in the lads that performed so well at Hednesford." He went on to encourage the Trinity faithful to travel in their numbers: "Please make the long journey north and make some noise. Let’s get right behind the players!"

Dunston have released their ticket information for the match. Priced at £10 Adults, £6 Concessions & £3 Under 16s. Commentary will be available for those unable to make the game, for those of you looking to keep up to date with all the action. Should thr game end level at the end of ninety minutes. A replay will be needed to settle the tie. The date for the replay would be Tuesday 30th September. 7.45pm kick off at the Kal Group Stadium.

New Signing

The boss added the folllowing, when talking about the unusual name on the team sheet last weekend: "Jakub Krysznski joined us from Mansfield Town last Friday and made his debut on the Saturday against Hednesford as a substitute with 20 minutes left. A big thank you to Nigel Clough for allowing Jakub to join us on loan. He can play all across the front line and has a great left foot." Join us in formally welcoming Jakub to Gainsborough Trinity. He has been given permission to play in Saturday's FA Cup game at Dunston & he will be champing at the bit, as he looks to catch the gaffers eye.
