The Step 4 side narrowly missed out on promotion last season, having lost on penalties to play-off winners Emley in the Play-Off Final, having beaten much-fancied Matlock Town, in their own backyard.
Managed by Craig Elliott, BPA have once again assembled a strong squad ahead of the new season & will be looking to target a return to Step 3 this year. With a number of experienced players, who Trinity have come up against regularly over the years, we know that
Saturday will offer the test we need, ahead of Workington's visit on the 8th August, as the league campaign starts in earnest.
The Holy Blues will be looking to come through the seventh match of pre-season on Saturday, unscathed. It has been a build-up that has seen wins against Frickley, Lincoln United & Stocksbridge Park Steels, and draws against Basford United & Doncaster Rovers, with a 3-2 defeat to FC Halifax the only blot on the copybook.
Elliott Whitehouse is set to continue his return to full fitness with more minutes. A short cameo against Doncaster was followed up with just over an hour at Stocksbridge, whilst other niggles in the camp are being carefully monitored.
