After that match, he quickly expressed an eagerness to stay at the club when he spoke to Gainsborough Trinity TV, commenting, "I am enjoying my time here, and I am sure the other lads will agree, we are going in the right direction and I want to be a part of this. I came in with the manager and really we just all want to get together and get us climbing away from danger and up the league."

Trinity go into the away game at Whitby Town on Saturday on their best run of the season, having picked up eight points from four games over the festive season, looking to build on that with victory on the East Coast. I am sure Holy Blues’ fans will be delighted with the extension to Will’s loan and look forward to him shutting out opposition attacks, whilst also chipping in with a goal or two himself:

"After scoring against Grantham, can I get five or six more before the end of the season and help Gainsborough move up the table?"

We’ll certainly enjoy watching him, that’s for sure!

In other news, Trinity’s postponed game away at Stalybridge Celtic has been rescheduled by the Northern Premier League, the new date set is Tuesday 28th January 2020, kicking off at 7:45pm.

And, George Green’s loan spell at the club has come to an end and he returns to his parent club, Boston United.
