Worksop Town, who play one step below Gainsborough are managed by Craig Parry and have so far enjoyed a faultless July, which the Holy Blues will be looking to halt on the final day. The Tigers have beaten Hemsworth Miners Welfare, 6-2, before beating Parkgate and Emley AFC, scoring nine without reply. Victories over Garforth, Huddersfield and Retford followed, leading into our game tomorrow, the Tigers so far taking advantage of their new playing surface.

It’s an early return for Charlie Jemson, who made the move from the Tigers to Trinity and he will be looking to impress with his new side as he looks to nail down a place in Shaw’s side for the opening game of the season. Ahead of the fixture Head Coach, Tom Shaw, had the following to say:

"It will be a good challenge for our group to match, or even to better, the performance levels from the Guiseley game. As always I will demand from the group that the controllable things are at their maximum. We have to run hard, we have to concentrate and we have to be fully committed to our roles and responsibilities. If we have another good day with the ball and dominate possession then that will be great, but Worksop have some excellent players and I’m sure they will make it really tough for us and make it hard to get control of the game."

"Myself and the staff will start to decide on a preferred formation and personnel over the next three games to attack the 14th August and at this moment that is really tough with players showing great behaviours, application and a high level of performance, long may it continue. If those decisions on selection are challenging at the start of the season, then we can be content with our summer and preseason work."

Worksop boast a couple of familiar faces for the Trinity faithful. Jake Picton spent time at the club under Steven Housham and Dom Roma and has impressed with his performances on the 3G this campaign. Connor Smythe, the left sided player spent pre-season last year with the Holy Blues, returning to Sandy Lane before the PitchingIn campaign began. And at the other end of the park, they boast the experienced Ben Tomlinson, who has scored goals wherever he has been. The ex Lincoln City front man, appeared on a couple of occasions last pre-season for Trinity including a very brief appearance that ended in a controversial red card after only two minutes away at Cleethorpes Town.

There is some street parking nearby and the railway station is close by too, although our hosts for the afternoon advise against using the retail park and other retail units as clamping is often enforced.

Gainsborough supporters are also advised that the excellent bar, Tigers Den, snack bar and club shop will all be open tomorrow afternoon, and if the elements continue to sweep across the country, there is plenty of seating and standing under cover. Smoking, dogs and chewing gum are strictly prohibited at the Windsor Food Service Stadium. Prices are £7 for adults (aged from 17 to 64) £5 for concessions (65 and over) and £3 for youths (16 and under). Kids go free for children aged 11 and under if accompanied and supervised by an adult.
