Still at a good age, at 28 years old, Galinski started his career at Derby County, where he was capped at youth level by Poland. After leaving Pride Park, Stef has seen service at Alfreton, Boston United, Grantham Town, Hednesford Town and most recently Basford. After three months in limbo, prior to his Basford departure, Stef was quick to admit:

"Getting back into the game had to be for the right reasons. I've trained with the club a couple of times and played in the game against Boston. I've had nine offers from clubs at this level and below and I could have picked up more money elsewhere, but there was only one club for me when I heard of the interest. I want to be somewhere I can enjoy my football and feel appreciated and with the group of young lads we've got here, it's a very exciting time."

"If we can have a good end to the season, win a few - it will lay the foundations for a good few years to come! I remember the last time I was here, as a youngster, we were having to clear horse muck off the pitches down at Roses. The developments there in recent times have been amazing and I can't wait to be involved!"

A strong, powerful centre half, with good communication and leadership, Galinski provides the exact attributes Shaw was looking for, in time that is sure to be a tough, challenging run in.

"With us allowing Lewis Carr to leave, for an improved offer, and Charlie Jemson asking to leave the club, we have been looking for a defender to improve the group and are delighted to have a player of Stef’s quality and experience join us for the remaining games this season. He has trained with us and played as a trialist against Boston United."

"Straight away you can see he will bring a voice, leadership and presence to our back line and I think he can have some big contributions in both boxes."

"I will challenge Stef to perform to his best level but also to be demanding of others around him and push the group to be at their best in the final 12 games and Senior Cup Final against Scunthorpe United."

Welcome to the club, Stef! Galinski goes straight into contention for Saturday’s trip to title chasing Buxton.
